First Light
Inspired by my love for horses and their rich symbolism across history, this sculpture portrays a foal discovering independence, embodying curiosity, alertness, and playful boldness.
I created this piece from repurposed cardboard and wood, developing the structure layer by layer and allowing the form to evolve into its own character, both organically and intuitively.
Once complete, I refined the surface with papier-mâché and layers of my own paper clay, contrasting textured detail with polished smoothness to create a natural, stone-like quality with a subtle industrial edge.
