Earth & Sky

Inspired by my love for horses and their rich symbolism across history, this sculpture echoes the iconic forms of Tang ceramics while celebrating the animal's inherent spirit. Its bowed head and uplifting stance, convey a sense of resilience, and a quiet yet profound strength.

I created this piece from repurposed cardboard and wood, developing the structure layer by layer and allowing the form to evolve into its own character, both organically and intuitively. Once complete, I refined the surface with papier-mâché and layers of my own paper clay, contrasting textured detail with polished smoothness to create a natural, stone-like quality with a subtle industrial edge.
