Iron Washed Horse
A study in industrial texture and equine form, this sculpture stands with a solid, grounded stance. Its most prominent feature is an elongated, crane-like neck that terminates in a stark, hollow ring rather than a literal head, effectively bridging the gap between a living creature and an industrial lens. The horse's strength is cast into an iron-like permanence, reflecting a powerful intersection of nature and machinery.
The piece is a hand-built sculptural form constructed over a cardboard armature, layered with paper-mâché and paper clay. The unique surface is finished using an oxidising paint that allows natural rusting to develop organically over time.
