Figure of a Mountain

Inspired by a fascination with the natural world and our relationship with it, this sculpture merges figurative form with an undulating, abstract landscape. Developed intuitively, each changing view reveals new shapes and shadows, while carved markings offer a quiet reminder of human presence within the natural environment.

The final surface is refined with layers of paper clay and sanded smooth, yet it retains subtle stains and imperfections to give it a timeworn quality reminiscent of weathered stone or sculpted landforms.
